Tips For
Toddlers
Many people need
parenting tips for
toddlers. Toddlers
are at the age where
they want to be
independent but
still need a lot of
help. Toddlers are
well known for
having a tantrum no
matter where they
are at. It is best
to encourage your
child to listen very
well and cooperate
with you. Just by
following these few
simple steps you
will have a much
happier toddler and
a much happier you.
Always show your
toddler how much you
love them, toddlers
love the attention
lot, lots of hugs
and kisses and
playtime reassure
them how much they
are loved. You want
the positive
attention to way out
number the negative
attention they get.
And praising your
toddler for what
they do right will
usually keep them
wanting to follow
the rules.
Always accept
your toddler for who
they are, every
child is different
and grows at
different stages. Do
not ever expect your
child to be like you
because they are
their own little
person. Do not focus
on your toddler's
bad behavior because
that will encourage
them to continue
acting that way.
Always challenge
your child, for
example if they
complete a game or
puzzle very quickly
and it is very easy
for them give them a
more challenging
game or puzzle this
will build up your
toddler's strength.
Do not expect
your toddler to be
able to follow a
list of rules. Rules
need to be kept
short and simple.
Always remember
safety first, help
your child to follow
the rules by not
leaving anything out
that could be
tempting for your
toddler to mess with
or get into.
Try not to yell
or raise your voice
to your toddler, all
that does is get
your toddler upset
and it will get you
upset. When you
would like your
toddler to do
something always use
your please and
thank you's just
like you would like
them to learn. It is
a good idea to form
things like clean up
into a game it makes
it fun for your
toddler and keeps
them wanting to do
it.
Do not get all
upset if your
toddler tells you no
when you ask them to
do something, just
ask them again and
they will know that
it needs to be done.
Always pick your
battles if they are
doing something that
is minor and not
hurting them or
anybody just let
them continue. It is
a great idea to give
your toddler
choices, for
instance you could
pick out two shirts
and ask them which
one they would like
to wear. Toddler's
love to feel
independent and to
make decisions.
Last parenting
tip for toddlers is
to try to stick to a
schedule, when you
know it is your
toddlers nap time
and you need to go
to the grocery store
it would be a good
idea to get the nap
in first. Toddler's
can get very cranky
and you do not want
to go to the store
with a cranky
toddler that will
probably have a
tantrum in the
middle of your
shopping. A good
idea if you have to
go out is to get a
sitter to come over
and watch your
toddler. Toddler's
get accustomed to
schedules and when
that get's
interrupted it will
throw off their
whole day. The
toddler age can be a
frustrating age but
it is also a very
fun stage just to
watch their
independence come
out is very
rewarding.
